Constructed of heavy-gauge aluminum with a durable polished finish, the cooker/canner features stay-cool handles and can be used on electric, gas, and smooth top ranges (not induction compatible). The deluxe pressure dial gauge accurately registers processing pressures so you can be sure you are meeting all food-safety protocols for cooking and canning. Safety features include an air vent/cover lock that will not allow pressure to build inside the cooker unless the lid is securely closed while also preventing the lid from being opened until cooking pressure has been reduced.

Pressure cooking is the only method recommended safe by the U.S.D.A. for canning low-acid foods such as meats and certain vegetables. Beyond cooking and canning under pressure, the cooker/canner can also be used for water-bath canning pints and half-pints of jams, jellies, pickles, and other foods that can safely be preserved via water-bath canning. The 16-Qt Pressure Cooker/Canner can process up to 7 quart jars, 10 pint jars, or 12 half-pint jars at a time.
